This is the time of year where I really start dreaming about summer. It’s so close I can almost taste it. And nothing screams “summer fun” louder than the 4th of July. With America’s 250th birthday right around the corner, there’s something pretty incredible about celebrating it not just in one city, but along the East Coast where so much of the country’s story began—and continues to evolve today. From historic harbors to naval strongholds to iconic skylines, this is a journey that connects the past and present in a really unique way. And that’s exactly what a New England cruise with Holland America Line offers. The Ship: Sailing Aboard…

The Best National Parks to Visit with Kids: Nature’s Playground When it comes to travel, I truly don’t discriminate. You’ll find me sipping margaritas at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun or hiking in Grand Teton National Park. I love it all. Best Things to do in Glacier National Park
Going to Glacier National Park had been on my travel bucket list for as long as I could remember. And our time there completely lived up to the hype. Towering peaks, turquoise lakes, wildlife around every corner… it’s the kind of place that makes even the most reluctant hikers fall in love with the outdoors. When I first started planning our trip, I was overwhelmed with all how much there is to do there. Because we’d be traveling with kids, I knew they wouldn’t want to just hike the whole time. But I also couldn’t not plan some hikes–Glacier has some of the best hikes in the country. So I’ve…

The Ultimate Guide to All-Inclusive Dude Ranches in the United States
I am constantly asked about all-inclusive resorts, and of course I tell people about my favorites in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo. But even I tend to overlook the all-inclusive resorts in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. You might be thinking I’m crazy–but they really do exist. I’m talking about the all inclusive dude ranch options throughout the United States. And there are plenty! These aren’t your typical beach all-inclusives. Instead of swim-up bars, think cowboy cookouts, guided trail rides, fly fishing, and stargazing. And the best part? Most of it is included. Now picture this: Drinking your coffee in the crisp mountain air. Taking a morning walk past the stables, where…

Your Guide to Three Rivers, California
When I first saw pictures of Three Rivers California I knew I needed to plan a visit. The picturesque setting with mountains in the distance and the river going right through town plus the fact that it’s right at the gateway to the Sequoia National Park really sold me. The amazing scenery and landscapes of Three Rivers make it a truly memorable destination. I had a vision of us either camping or staying on a house right on the river. We opted for the house option, which was a good thing because it was HOT when we visited in late July. Here’s an overview of our itinerary and all the…

Explore Delta Lake in Grand Teton National Park
We spent this summer exploring several national parks and completing many hikes. We hiked to Grinnell Glacier and Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park. We hiked Moro Rock in Sequoia National Park. We hiked to the Prismatic Spring overlook in Yellowstone. But the Delta Lake Wyoming hike in the Grand Tetons was definitely one of my favorites. This hike was the most challenging of them all, but so rewarding when we reached the emerald green lake at the end. If you are interested in the Delta Lake Wyoming hike, I highly recommend you give it a shot. I hiked it with my husband and my kids–ages 12, 10 and 8.…
