Motorhome Essentials: What You Need
Things you need for a motorhome that you might not have thought of We just recently bought our Thor Ace 30.2 motorhome. Before we had that, we had tent camped for many years, so we already had all of the camping basics. We had cooking utensils, pots and pans, plates and silverware, which we just moved from our camping bins into our motorhome. We also purchased sheets, pillows, towels and toothbrushes that would live permanently in the motorhome. But there were a lot of motorhome essentials that we didn’t think of until our first outing in the RV. Here’s a list of motorhome essentials we ended up purchasing after our…

Thor 30.2 Ace Motorhome – Our New RV
Prior to purchasing our Thor 30.2 Ace motorhome, my husband and I had been tent campers our whole lives. When I was a child, my family actually bought a motorhome, but it was a punishment for us kids to have to sleep in it. We all had our tents and we loved sleeping in them, so we only slept in the motorhome if it was raining or if we got in trouble. I still genuinely enjoy tent camping. There’s something special about sleeping in a tent. But there’s obviously a ton of prep work, packing and loading that goes along with tent camping. After 11 years of tent camping with…

Must-Have Items for Every Camping Adventure
Camping List Checklist: Everything You Need for Your Next Camping Trip Packing for a camping trip always feels a little overwhelming to me. I mean, packing always stinks, but there is so much more stuff involved with camping. I wanted to make this camping list checklist to help make the packing burden easier for you. One thing we’ve done that really helps cut down on some of the packing is use storage tubs for a bunch of our camping gear, so it’s just a matter of grabbing those from the garage and putting them in the back of the truck. We have one tub that’s packed with all the camping…

Camping With A Baby: What You Need
We’ve never missed a summer of camping–even after having babies in January, September and March. We’ve camped while I was pregnant, we’ve camped with a 4-month old, and we’ve even camped with 3 kids under the age of 5. Camping with a baby might sound like a daunting task, but with the right preparation and gear, it can be an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Spending time in nature is a great way to bond, and it’s never too early to introduce your little one to the great outdoors. You just need to make sure you’re prepared so that you can have a smooth trip. Here’s everything you need…

Camping Kitchen: What You Need
Two of the most important things you need for a successful camping trip are good sleeping gear and kitchen gear. I cover the best camping tents and sleeping mats in a different post, so this one is all about your camping kitchen needs. You can also check out my complete camping gear checklist to make sure you have everything you need. One of my biggest recommendations when it comes to camping kitchens is to create a bin that’s all of your camping kitchen gear and another that is all of your “pantry” stuff. This makes packing for your camping trip so much easier. Here’s what you need to make sure…

Potrero County Park Campground, San Diego
Potrero County Park is a family-friendly campground located 45 miles east of San Diego. Its rural location makes you feel far removed from city limits. Yet, it’s an easy enough drive for a quick weekend or overnight getaway. We camped at Potrero County Park for the first time in June 2022. My son’s baseball coach camped there somewhat regularly, so he invited all of the t-ball families for an end-of-season group camping trip. This campground was a great choice for a group because it was easy to book sites that were all next to each other. In addition, this campground has a baseball field on site, so we knew it…
