Where to Stay in Costa Rica

The first thing I did when planning my Costa Rica trip was figure out the best places to go in Costa Rica. I actually decided to visit multiple regions because I wanted a mix of rainforest and beach vibes. Most of these family all inclusive Costa Rica resorts are located in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. This region has a lot of resorts on white-sand beaches.

The popular places to visit in Costa Rica are as follows:

  • La Fortuna – located in the Arenal region, this area offers all rainforest, volcano views, hot springs, monkeys, and is more quaint. It’s just a few miles from the famous Arenal Volcano, making it a central point for families wanting to explore the volcano and nearby attractions.
  • Guanacaste – beaches, warmer weather, bigger resort areas, white sand beaches, turtles and sloths
  • Manuel Antonio – mix of rainforest and beaches, monkeys, and lots of wildlife

Many family-friendly resorts in Costa Rica are located just a few miles from popular attractions, making it easy for visitors to explore the area.

Thanks for reading my post. My name is Jaime and I am a mom to three busy children. When we're not at the soccer and football fields, we try to get away as often as possible. I'm a teacher and my husband is a firefighter, so we mostly get away for long weekends or over the school breaks. I hope to inspire busy families to take time to recoup and relax while making memories on camping trips or cruise ships, or at the fancy resort pool--we love it all!
