I’m almost embarrassed to admit this… we’ve stayed on the north shore of Kauai multiple times now, and somehow totally missed Hideaway Beach every single visit. Makaleha Falls: A Kauai Waterfall Hike
When it comes to family-friendly hikes in Kauai, I’m not sure I’d put the hike to Makaleha Falls on the list, simply due to that fact that this hike was not well-marked and there was a lot of guess work involved. We visited Kauai for the first time when our kids were 10, 9 and 6. I was worried we wouldn’t be able to explore as much as we wanted to with three youngish kids in tow, but I was very pleased to learn that there were plenty of kid-friendly hikes in Kauai.
