I’ve shared a lot about Palm Springs over the years, and that’s because I love it so much. It’s such an easy weekend destination for those of us in Southern California. And even for people who are traveling from afar, it’s one of the best California cities to visit. Its surrounding desert communities offer more than sun-baked golf courses and mid-century cool — it’s also home to some amazing family resorts. In the past, I’ve covered the best resort pools in Palm Desert, along with the best Palm Springs family-friendly resorts. Now I’m focusing on the best waterpark hotels in Palm Springs, Ca.

There aren’t too many hotels in the Palm Springs area that offer full-blown waterparks. But there are several with waterslides, lazy rivers, splash pads and more. Whether you’re planning a family getaway or just want to add more splash to your desert stay, these are the top waterpark hotels in Palm Springs, Ca, worth checking out.

Quick Picks: Best Waterpark Hotels in Palm Springs

Best Areas to Stay in Palm Springs for Families

  • Palm Springs Proper – Closest to restaurants, shopping, and attractions.
  • Rancho Mirage – Known for larger resorts and quieter settings.
  • Palm Desert – Great for families looking for space and more affordable resort options.

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas – One of the bigger waterpark hotels in the Palm Springs area

Of all the waterpark hotels in the Palm Springs, Ca, area, the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort probably has the most authentic waterpark vibes. Its water playground — known as HyTides — is complete with multiple pools, two dueling water slides, splash pads, and a lazy river that adults and kids both enjoy.

Why it’s awesome:

  • Twisting water slides for thrill-seekers
  • 450-foot lazy river & splash pad
  • Nine outdoor pools and cabana options
  • Multiple upscale dining venues on-site
  • Full-service spa and golf

💰 Price point: Higher-end resort experience ($$$) — ideal for families or couples seeking a luxury stay with plenty of activities. My honest opinion–this resort is a bit overpriced. You can use points to snag a good deal or go during off season, but otherwise, I think there are better options out there. Read my full review here.

Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa – Family Favorite Waterpark Oasis

If you’re searching specifically for waterpark hotels in Palm Springs with a true waterpark vibe, this property is another top contender. The resort’s Splashtopia water park includes a lazy river, two 100-foot water slides, splash zones and fountains that kids love, plus a sandy beach area and cliff-side hot tub. This is my personal favorite waterpark resort in the Palm Springs area.

Resort highlights:

  • Two-acre waterpark with slides and play areas
  • 425-foot lazy river
  • Multiple pools including a peaceful adults-only retreat
  • On-site golf, spa, and tennis
  • Family-friendly with casual dining options

💰 Price point: Upper mid-range to high ($$$) — offers great value for families seeking big-splash fun.

The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa – Resort-Style Fun with Waterslides

The first two options are the only resorts in Palm Springs that offer both a lazy river and waterslides. But the Westin Rancho Mirage has a similar vibe to the other waterpark hotels in Palm Springs and is worth a mention.

While it’s not a full-scale waterpark resort with a lazy river, it does feature a large main pool area with twisting waterslides that are a huge hit with kids (and fun-loving adults). The pool deck is lively but not overwhelming, making it a nice middle ground between high-energy waterpark resorts and quieter boutique stays.

Why families love it:

  • Large resort pool with two waterslides
  • Separate splash area for younger kids
  • Poolside cabanas available to rent
  • On-site dining and casual pool bar
  • Full-service spa and championship golf course

This property leans a bit more traditional “resort” than villa-style, so rooms are hotel-based rather than full kitchens (unlike Desert Willow). But the grounds are beautiful, and the location in Rancho Mirage keeps you close to everything in the Coachella Valley.

💰 Price point: Mid-range to upper mid-range ($$–$$$ depending on season). Spring break and holiday weekends tend to book quickly.

The Westin Desert Willow Villas, Palm Desert – Relaxed Desert Escape With Waterslides

While this property doesn’t have a full-scale waterpark like some of the larger resorts, it still earns a spot on the list of waterpark hotels in Palm Springs thanks to its multiple pool areas and fun waterslides that kids absolutely love.

Located in Palm Desert (about 25 minutes from downtown Palm Springs), this Marriott Vacation Club resort offers a more laid-back, spacious villa experience — ideal for families who want pool fun without the full-on waterpark crowds. I like that the pool areas are spread out, and that there are waterslide options at multiple pools. It makes the resort feel less crowded overall during peak times.

Why families like it:

  • Multiple outdoor pools across the property
  • Two twisting waterslides at the main pool complex
  • Splash pad areas for younger kids
  • Spacious villa-style accommodations with full kitchens
  • BBQ areas and outdoor gathering spaces

The overall vibe here is calmer and more spread out compared to the bigger splash-focused resorts. It’s perfect if you want water fun during the day but a quieter atmosphere in the evenings.

💰 Price point: Moderate ($$) — typically similar to other villa-style Westin properties in the area. Excellent value for families who appreciate extra space and kitchen access. Read my full review of this resort here.

How to Choose the Best Waterpark Hotel in Palm Springs

Not all waterpark hotels are the same, so it helps to consider:

  • Age of your kids: Some resorts are better for toddlers vs. older kids; minimum heights on the waterslides can be a factor as well.
  • Water features: Lazy rivers, slides, splash pads
  • Resort vibe: Relaxed vs. high-energy
  • Budget: Prices vary widely depending on season

Choosing the right hotel can make your Palm Springs trip much more enjoyable.

Thanks for reading my post. My name is Jaime and I am a mom to three busy children. When we're not at the soccer and football fields, we try to get away as often as possible. I'm a teacher and my husband is a firefighter, so we mostly get away for long weekends or over the school breaks. I hope to inspire busy families to take time to recoup and relax while making memories on camping trips or cruise ships, or at the fancy resort pool--we love it all!
