Best Hotel at Atlantis Bahamas: Which Is Right for You?

The Royal Tower is my pick for best hotel at Atlantis, Bahamas.

The Atlantis in the Bahamas is a huge resort with many restaurants, pools, beaches, bars, casinos and more. It’s truly one of our favorite family resorts in Nassau. If you’re going to book a vacation here, you probably want to be right in the action. Or perhaps, you want to be in the quiet areas, enjoying the sound of waves crashing rather than children screaming. Depending on what you’re looking for will help to determine which is the best hotel at Atlantis Bahamas.

Quick Recommendation:

The Royal Tower: Best Hotel at Atlantis Bahamas for Waterpark Access

Definitely the most iconic building at The Atlantis Resort, the Royal Tower is the largest and most popular hotel at the Atlantis. It’s the best hotel at Atlantis, Bahamas for families wanting to be close to all the action. It’s where we chose to stay on our most recent trip, and we love it there.

When you stay here, you will be close to the waterpark and several pools. You also have easy access to the casino, aquariums and several restaurants that are located in the Royal Tower.

Rooms in the Royal Tower have French balconies with standing room only. You can choose from an ocean view, a harbor view or a terrace view, overlooking the resort grounds. The price point for this hotel is a mid-range, with the Harborside, Cove and Reef buildings being more expensive, and the Coral building being less expensive.

The Cove – Best Hotel at Atlantis Bahamas for Luxury Travelers

The cove is upscale and is can easily be seen as the best hotel at Atlantis, Bahamas.
The Cove (right) and Reef (left) hotels

If you’re looking for an upscale experience, The Cove might be the best hotel at Atlantis, Bahamas for you.

The Cove building at the Atlantis tends to be the most expensive building. Newer than the Royal Tower, the Cove is the more stylish and luxurious option for those looking for a true 5-star experience. You’ll be wowed by the open-air lobby, and rooms at the Cove enjoy full-sized balconies.

The Cove and the Reef towers share a separate beach and family pool, but the Cove also has an adults-only pool that is for its guests only. This pool has cabanas, DJs and outdoor gambling, creating a fun, party-like atmosphere.

The Reef

Next to the Cove, is the Reef. Another top pick for best hotel in Atlantis, Bahamas.
The Reef (left) and Cove (right) hotels

For families who want a little bit more upscale and spacious rooms, the best Atlantis Bahamas hotel for you may just be The Reef. The Reef is an all-suite hotel, and the rooms all have kitchenettes or full kitchens so you can prepare your own meals. You also have an expansive white-sand beach just steps away from your building, and access to the shared family pool that is only open to Reef and Cove guests.

Staying at The Reef will cost a bit more than other buildings (except the Cove), but you can save some money by preparing some meals in your room. You’ll have access to all the other parts of the resort, but just know that this building is the furthest away from the Aquaventure waterpark, the casino and many of the restaurants. One nice perk of this building is that there is a Starbucks in the lobby.

The Coral: Unique Design

The Coral is the best hotel at Atlantis, Bahamas if you want to save a bit of money.

Hoping to save a bit of money? The Coral is likely the best hotel at Atlantis, Bahamas for you.

The Coral is the least expensive hotel option at The Atlantis and is designed with families in mind. While the building is pretty dated, it still has a lot to offer its guests. When you stay at the Coral, you have easy access to the casino (which links the Coral to the Royal). You’re also closer to the marina, where you will find many restaurants, a Starbucks and various shops to explore. Other perks include direct access to the Atlantis Beach, a teen club, and a dedicated family pool if you don’t want to make the walk to Aquaventure.

Harborside Resort

The Harborside Resort is the Atlantis Bahamas hotel where you’ll find apartment-style accommodations for guests, complete with separate living spaces and full kitchens. But this property sits across the marina from the rest of the resort, so you’ll be a distance from the beaches, pools and casino. There is a free shuttle, however, that will bring you to and from the main resort area. This property is good for families looking for spacious rooms and kitchens, but who don’t want to pay the premium prices at the Reef.

One More Best Buy Option…

Staying at the Atlantis is expensive. Even when you get a good deal, it’s pricey. So for those looking to save the most money, the best hotel at Atlantis, Bahamas might not even be on the property.

For those really wanting to experience everything the resort has to offer, but without spending a fortune, consider booking a room at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island.

An all-suites hotel, the Comfort Suites Paradise Island hotel has an agreement with The Atlantis that gives their guests access to the waterpark, pools and beaches at the Atlantis, at no additional cost. You’ll still need to figure out transportation between the two properties, but for significantly less money, you can stay at the Comfort Suites and still enjoy the amenities at The Atlantis. The Comfort Suites also has a pool on the property, offers a free breakfast buffet and free wi-fi.

Thanks for reading my post. My name is Jaime and I am a mom to three busy children. When we're not at the soccer and football fields, we try to get away as often as possible. I'm a teacher and my husband is a firefighter, so we mostly get away for long weekends or over the school breaks. I hope to inspire busy families to take time to recoup and relax while making memories on camping trips or cruise ships, or at the fancy resort pool--we love it all!
