Explore the Paranormal with US Ghost Adventures: Tours, Tales & Overnight Thrills
US Ghost Adventures recently reached out to me asking if I’d be interested in attending one of their ghost tours in the city of my choice. Umm, yes please! I asked a group of friends to join me, and we make it a fun mom’s night out in our hometown, San Diego.
If you’re drawn to ghost stories, historic haunts, or just love a good spine-tingling adventure, US Ghost Adventures is a must-add to your bucket list. With tours in over 100 cities across the U.S., this unique company delivers an unforgettable blend of history and hauntings—perfect for thrill-seekers, paranormal enthusiasts, or curious travelers looking to explore a different side of America.
What sets US Ghost Adventures apart? Their tours aren’t just spooky—they’re deeply rooted in real history and local legends, led by expert storytellers who make the experience immersive, entertaining, and, yes, sometimes downright chilling. Plus, there are a variety of tours and experiences to choose from, depending on what you’re looking for. And some are open to all ages as well.
While I think it’s important for you to know that US Ghost Adventures covered the cost of my ticket, the thoughts and opinions in this post are entirely mine and mine alone.
👻 Ghost Tours in 100+ Cities

From Salem to Savannah, New Orleans to San Diego, each US Ghost Adventures walking tour is carefully crafted to reflect the haunted history of the city you’re exploring. You’ll visit some of the most notoriously haunted sites, hear about unsolved mysteries, and learn about the people who never really left.
Each tour runs about 60–120 minutes and some are family-friendly (but spooky enough to get your heart racing!). The bar crawls are for ages 21 and up. Popular locations include:
- Savannah, GA: Explore the “most haunted city in America” with stops at cemeteries, historic inns, and shadowy squares.
- New Orleans, LA: Walk through the French Quarter and hear tales of voodoo, vampires, and restless spirits.
- Gettysburg, PA: Discover haunted battlegrounds and Civil War ghost stories in this famously eerie town.
- San Diego, CA: From the Whaley House to the Gaslamp Quarter, this tour digs into the darker side of sunny SoCal.
- San Francisco, CA: Discover the haunted secrets behind the fog in this coastal city. The tour explores Gold Rush-era ghosts, notorious brothels, and chilling tales of madness and murder near the historic Jackson Square. Don’t let the scenic skyline fool you—there’s a shadowy past lurking just beneath the surface.

🏚️ Haunted Overnight Stays

Want more than just a ghost tour? US Ghost Adventures offers overnight stays in some of the most haunted and historically significant locations in the country. These are immersive experiences for people who crave more than a quick ghost story.
Armed with real paranormal investigation equipment and led by experienced guides, you’ll explore the eerie past of each site late into the night.
Here are three chilling locations currently offered:
- Lizzie Borden House – Fall River, MA
Spend the night in the infamous house where Lizzie Borden allegedly took an axe… and gave her mother and father 40 and 41 whacks. Stay in one of the original bedrooms and try to make contact with the spirits that still linger. This is one of the most well-known haunted sites in the U.S.—and now, it’s a bed & breakfast. - Villisca Axe Murder House – Villisca, IA
Eight people were brutally murdered here in 1912—and the killer was never caught. Paranormal investigators and visitors report everything from disembodied voices to moving objects. If you dare to spend the night, you’ll join the long list of guests who’ve experienced the unexplainable. - Historic 1889 McInteer Villa – Atchison, KS
One of the most paranormally active locations in Kansas, the McInteer Villa is a Victorian mansion with a history of tragic deaths and mysterious happenings. Guests have reported shadow figures, phantom footsteps, and unexplained lights. You’ll have full access to the home for your overnight investigation.
I personally enjoyed reading about the experiences and encounters people had in these places on their website. But I don’t think I’d ever be brave enough to stay the night!
🔦 Ghost Hunting Tours

If you’re interested in diving deeper into the supernatural, sign up for a ghost hunting tour. Unlike the standard walking tour, this version equips you with EMF detectors and other tools used by paranormal investigators. You’ll learn how to use the gear, then go hands-on as you explore locations known for unexplained activity.
These tours are ideal for anyone who’s ever watched a ghost-hunting show and thought, “I want to do that!”
🎂 Private Events & Parties
Looking for a unique way to celebrate a birthday, bachelor(ette) party, or corporate event? US Ghost Adventures offers private group tours tailored to your crew. Whether you’re looking for a fun night out or a team-building activity that’s way more exciting than trust falls, these private experiences bring mystery and excitement to any occasion.
My Experience – The San Diego Boos & Booze Haunted Pub Crawl

My friends and I got together before hand to enjoy some hand-crafted, festive cocktails before taking an Uber downtown. I’m glad we had some drinks beforehand because our first (and only) bar stop was halfway through the tour, at the one-hour mark.

This wasn’t an issue for us. But groups who aren’t getting together beforehand might want to meet a little bit earlier to start off with a cocktail. It was definitely more boos than booze. The tour itself was filled with interesting stories, and it was a great way to see a beautiful city on foot. Our guide used an EMF detector which was an added bonus. Overall, it was a super fun and unique outing–perfect for a fun night out on the town.
I’d definitely be interested in doing more ghost tours in the various cities I travel to. And I think my kids would enjoy some of them as well. They loved hearing spooky tales when we were in Tombstone.
Final Thoughts

US Ghost Adventures combines storytelling, history, and spine-tingling adventure to create truly one-of-a-kind experiences. Whether you’re planning a night out, a weekend getaway, or a memorable group event, these tours offer a hauntingly good time for all.
