New Year’s Eve looks a lot different for me now that I’m a parent. The sparkly dresses and late-night parties have been swapped for cozy pajamas, sparkling cider, and counting down to the 9 PM East Coast ball drop. And honestly—no complaints here. There’s something sweet about making the night fun and memorable for my kids and waking up on January 1st feeling rested instead of regretting life choices. But the traveler in me does love looking for New Years Eve hotels that go all out with kid festivities over the holiday–and I’ve found some great ones.

Whether your idea of the perfect New Year’s Eve involves staying up until midnight with fireworks, enjoying family-friendly festivities, or simply creating magical memories with your kids before an early bedtime, there are hotels that make it easy. Some go far beyond a quick countdown and toast—they roll out fireworks, ice skating rinks, balloon drops, themed parties, glittery crafts, meet-and-greets, and more. If you’re dreaming of ringing in the New Year somewhere festive, family-focused, and unforgettable, you’re in the right place.

From snowy adventures to sunshine escapes and big-city celebrations, you can find the kind of New Years Eve celebration you’re looking for. These U.S. hotels are perfect if you want to turn New Year’s Eve into a memory your kids will talk about all year.

Here are the best options worth traveling for — no fillers, just truly great picks:

🎄 1. Gaylord Texan Resort — Grapevine, Texas – One of the best New Years Eve Hotels for Kids

This resort is on my list of the best family resorts in all of Texas, and for good reason. But the holiday season makes me love it even more. The Gaylord Texan is basically the definition of over-the-top holiday magic.

During December, the whole resort transforms for its famous Lone Star Christmas featuring lights, holiday displays, and live shows. On New Year’s Eve, families can enjoy festive dining experiences, kids’ activities, and access to SoundWaves Indoor Waterpark (which means warm-weather pool fun even in winter). This resort is perfect if you’re looking for a New Year’s celebration that’s festive without the cold-weather commitment.

Why it’s a great option: Holiday magic meets waterpark fun — a winning combination for kids!

⛸ 2. The Broadmoor — Colorado Springs, Colorado

If you want classic elegance with serious winter wonderland vibes, The Broadmoor is a dream. Their New Year’s festivities often include a family-friendly celebration with a special dinner, music, and plenty of winter activities like ice skating, s’mores around fire pits, and horse-drawn carriage rides. This hotel also makes my list of the best Christmas hotels, so it’s a must-visit during the holiday season.

Why it’s great: It’s a classy yet cozy way to celebrate — perfect for families wanting something upscale but still magical for kids.

☃️ 3. Omni Mount Washington Resort — Bretton Woods, New Hampshire

This iconic historic resort goes all out for New Year’s Eve. Expect kid-friendly buffets, themed parties, s’mores, live entertainment, and sometimes even fireworks. Plus, it’s set next to a ski mountain, so you can easily turn the trip into a full winter getaway. It’s truly a New Years Eve hotel that keeps families in mind every step of the way.

Why it’s great: It feels like stepping into a snow globe, and there’s always tons happening for all ages. It’s also a resort that goes all out for Christmas, so it’s fun to see the decorations.

🎡 4. Great Wolf Lodge (Various Locations) – One of the New Years Eve Hotels with a Waterpark

Great Wolf Lodge is made for kids, and New Years Eve at this hotel is no exception. If your kids love Great Wolf Lodge during regular months, wait until you see it during New Year’s. Their annual Snowland Celebration transforms the resort into a winter wonderland complete with hot cocoa bars, holiday crafts, pajama dance parties, and a family-friendly New Year’s countdown (with balloon drop!) — all without needing to bundle up thanks to the indoor waterpark.

Why it’s great: It’s one big party with zero stress and tons for kids to do from morning until midnight.

🌴 5. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort — Orlando, Florida

If you want full-blown magic for New Year’s Eve, Disney is hard to beat. The Grand Floridian offers themed dinners, live music, character experiences, and incredible views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks when midnight hits. Even if you don’t go into the parks that night, you’ll still get all the pixie dust vibes.

Why it’s great: A bucket-list experience for families — especially if your kids love Disney.

🧜‍♀️ 6. Hotel del Coronado — San Diego, California – A New Years Eve Hotel Right on the Beach

A warm-weather twist on the holiday season? Yes, please. The Hotel del Coronado is known for its gorgeous beachfront holiday celebrations, including its famous beachfront ice-skating rink (yes—on the beach!), nightly light shows on the palm trees, and festive New Year’s dining events. Many years include a themed Kid’s NYE Party complete with activities and supervised fun while parents enjoy their own celebration.

Why it’s great: Sunshine + holiday sparkle + beachfront celebrations = perfect for warm-weather seekers. And Coronado has plenty to do no matter when you visit.

🎆 7. The Sagamore Resort — Lake George, New York

I know I have this resort listed as one of my favorites to spend 4th of July at. But this cozy lakeside resort turns into a magical winter escape during the holidays and is totally worth checking out. New Year’s Eve at this hotel usually includes a family gala with dancing, food, special kids programming, and sometimes fireworks over the lake. Plus, the surrounding Adirondacks offer skiing, snow tubing, and plenty of winter fun.

Why it’s great: A nostalgic, snowy holiday escape with a festive celebration atmosphere.

New Year’s Eve doesn’t have to mean staying up late watching the fall drop on TV (although we love that too, not gonna lie). A New Years Eve hotel getaway is such a fun way to mark a fresh start — and these properties know exactly how to make it unforgettable for both kids and adults.

Whether you’re splashing around in indoor waterparks, cheering under fireworks, skating by the beach, or dancing under chandeliers, these hotels offer a celebration worth packing a suitcase for.

Thanks for reading my post. My name is Jaime and I am a mom to three busy children. When we're not at the soccer and football fields, we try to get away as often as possible. I'm a teacher and my husband is a firefighter, so we mostly get away for long weekends or over the school breaks. I hope to inspire busy families to take time to recoup and relax while making memories on camping trips or cruise ships, or at the fancy resort pool--we love it all!
