Best Arizona Resorts with Amazing Pools

Spending time in one of the best pools in Arizona at the Scottsdale Princess resort

When we travel to Arizona, especially in the hotter parts of the year, we know we’re going to want to spend a lot of time in a pool. So that’s always the first thing I look at when I check out different hotels. There are plenty of resorts that have amazing pools in Arizona, but I need a pool that is going to get my kids excited and keep them entertained for hours. Therefore, I need all the things: waterslides, lazy rivers, waterfalls. The more, the better.

In my other popular post, I list out all the Arizona resorts with a lazy river. This here is a complete list of resorts that have the best pools in Arizona. And if you have your heart set on staying in Scottsdale, be sure to check out my list of the best family resorts in Scottsdale AZ.

Arizona Grand Resort & Spa (Phoenix)

The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa has to be on my list because there’s literally an entire waterpark on the property. The Travel Channel voted this Arizona resort pool as one of the country’s Top 10, and it’s easy to see why.

There’s a giant wave pool, lazy river, multiple water slides… this place has it all. And that’s in addition to six more traditional style pools on the property. It’s easy to see why it’s one of the best family resorts in Phoenix. I don’t anticipate the kids getting bored here.

Waterfalls? Lazy river? Lagoon-style pool? Yep, yep and yep to all of the above. You’ll feel like you’ve escaped to paradise when you step out onto this Arizona resort’s 4-acre pool complex. And you can’t forget about the 130-ft waterslide as well. The kids will have plenty to do with everything this Phoenix resort has to offer.

Plus, this is resort is central to many of the best things to do in Phoenix.

Arizona Biltmore Resort (Phoenix)

The Arizona Biltmore is a luxury resort that has multiple pools, each offering a unique experience. Kids tend to love the Paradise Pool which has a 92-foot waterslide and a splash pad. There are also quieter pools and adults-only pools, along with a poolside restaurant and bar serving casual bites, refreshing cocktails, and kid-friendly menu options.

JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge (Phoenix)

The new waterslides at one of the best Arizona resorts with amazing pools

The pool scene at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge has been completely revamped to become its own adventure zone. From high-thrill slides like The Drop and Gullywasher to the peaceful riverside drift of the Canyon Creek Lazy River, plus luxe cabanas and an adults-only zone, it’s a full-fledged waterpark experience built right into a resort. Families with kids will find tons of splash-and-play fun, while adults can sneak away for a quieter lounge moment. It’s exciting to see that the resort isn’t just resting on its original 4 acres of waterside fun—it has expanded into something even bigger.

The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa (Phoenix)

Besides having a 110-ft waterslide and a lazy river, the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa also features something you won’t find at many other Arizona resorts: surfing. That’s right, here you’ll find a Flowrider, where children and adults can practice simulated surfing.

And not only does the Westin Kierland Resort in Arizona have a great pool area, it also has a luxurious spa, a golf course and multiple on-site restaurants. There’s a kids club on site along with a variety of lawn games. On Fridays, there’s a reptile presentation in the lobby, and on weekends, you can practice your s’mores-making skills over the fire pit.

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess – (Scottsdale) An upscale resort with beautiful pools in Arizona

There isn’t a lazy river at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort, but they make up for it with dive-in movies every Saturday night, followed by a fireworks show. You’ll also find two 200-ft twisting waterslides that the kids can race down, white-sand beach areas, fire features and more within the property’s six pools.

In addition to all of that, you’ll also find a kids club (for ages 5-12), a fitness room and a rec center with activities that the whole family can enjoy. Grab fishing poles from the front desk and try your luck at one of the on-site ponds or relax at one of the fire pits. In the winter, this resort turns into a winter wonderland, where you can enjoy various seasonal activities such as ice skating and sledding in the desert.

JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa (Tucson) – One of the best Arizona Resort Pools in Tucscon

A true desert oasis featuring a scenic lazy river, waterslides, and multi-level pools set amid sweeping desert views. Additional offerings include hiking trails, a golf course, luxury spa facilities, and multiple dining options.

Check out my review of the JW Marriott Tucson Starr. With its lazy river and waterslide, it’s another top pool to pick in Arizona.

Thanks for reading my post. My name is Jaime and I am a mom to three busy children. When we're not at the soccer and football fields, we try to get away as often as possible. I'm a teacher and my husband is a firefighter, so we mostly get away for long weekends or over the school breaks. I hope to inspire busy families to take time to recoup and relax while making memories on camping trips or cruise ships, or at the fancy resort pool--we love it all!
