Best All Inclusive Family Resorts – US Virgin Islands: Where to Stay for Sun, Sand & Stress-Free Fun

Turquoise waters, soft sandy beaches, and zero need to cook, clean, or plan your next meal—just pure island vibes and family time. That sounds like a magical getaway if you ask me, and you can have just that in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I’ve recently been asked a lot about the U.S. Virgin Islands and which all-inclusive resorts I would recommend there. But as much as I love a good all-inclusive resort, the USVI actually doesn’t have many true all-inclusive resorts. In fact, there’s really only one fully all-inclusive family resort US Virgin Islands offer. They used to have a few more, but those resorts never rebuilt after the damage from hurricanes in 2017.

I do think it’s still worth a look into the Virgin Islands though. Especially because these islands, along with Puerto Rico, are places in the Caribbean that U.S. citizens can visit without having a passport. So even though it might not feel as easy or inexpensive as an all-inclusive resort, the fact that you don’t need a passport helps offset that bit.

So, in addition to that resort, I’ve included a few gems that go above and beyond to make traveling with kids easy and relaxing. Final Thoughts: Making the Most of Your USVI Family Trip

One of the beautiful beaches in the Virgin Islands

While the U.S. Virgin Islands may not be packed with mega all-inclusive resorts, there are several excellent options where families can soak up the sun without stressing about the details. Whether you want a true all-inclusive stay or a resort with flexible amenities, the islands offer something for every kind of traveler. Bonus? No passport needed for U.S. citizens!

Pro Tip: Travel in shoulder season (May–June or September–early December) to find better rates and fewer crowds. And always check for kid stay/eat free promotions—they can stretch your budget big time.

Thanks for reading my post. My name is Jaime and I am a mom to three busy children. When we're not at the soccer and football fields, we try to get away as often as possible. I'm a teacher and my husband is a firefighter, so we mostly get away for long weekends or over the school breaks. I hope to inspire busy families to take time to recoup and relax while making memories on camping trips or cruise ships, or at the fancy resort pool--we love it all!
